UACRR SHOWED POSITIVE DYNAMICS OF COLLECTIONS IN THE Q1 2009
In the first quarter of 2009, UACRR showed positive dynamics of royalty collections. Amount of UAH 5.4 million was collected for three months of this year. It is almost UAH 0.5 million more than it was collected for the same period in the year 2008. UAH 3,4 million (62% of the total income) were collected for use of copyrighted works in theatre field (“grand rights”) . Approximately UAH 0,4 million were transferred to UACRR by collective management organization “House of Music Authors in Ukraine”. In the Q1.2009, amount of royalties received for exploitation of Ukrainian authors’ works abroad approximates to UAH 130 thousand. However, income sourcing from mechanical recordings (ÑD, DVD, cassettes, etc.) decreased significantly. In the Q1.2009, collections for mechanical rights reached UAH 200 thousand. It is three times less than it was collected for the same period in 2008. The amount of UAH2.3 million was paid to Ukrainian authors in the first quarter. Approximately UAH 1 million was paid to foreign authors whose works have been used in the territory of Ukraine. Also, UACRR paid UAH 0.8 million of taxes for the period. The remainder of collected royalties is in the identification and information processing; that is such royalties will be paid to the authors in the following periods. |
